There’s a petition, called Coalition for Equal Marriage, for same-sex marriage to be legalised in the UK. You must be a UK resident to sign the petition, and you must register your email address with them for your vote to count.

This could make a huge difference on whether the same-sex marriage is legalised in Scotland in a few months!

Yeah, if anyone doesn’t know, the government in the UK are putting forward legislation to legalise gay marriage. It’s going to recieve a lot of opposition once it hits parliament and get voted against by a lot of back-benchers, if anyone knows what they are, and even the Arch-Bishop of Canterbury has released a statement against it. But this isn’t fair.

Marriage existed before Christianity, and they aren’t forcing churches to perform same-sex marriage anyway, they will get a choice. Our Prime Minister has said he’ll push this through but he’s giving MPs a free vote which literally means that, it could go either way.

I can’t promise the petition will do anything but anything to help, right? 

Scotland is also fighting to allow heterosexual couples to have the right to a civil partnership, and in a recent survey completed by the Scottish Youth Parliament, 74% of scottish teens agreed that all laws regarding homosexual relationships should be equal to those regarding heterosexual relationships.
